 What is Pewter?

Pewter is a type of metal alloy, which means it is a mixture of several metals, typically tin, copper, and antimony. Pewter is easy to work with, versatile, and has a wide range of uses, from sturdy photo frames to delicate jewelry. At EVBEA, we take pride in our expertise in traditional tinworking methods as well as innovative new ways of working—this is why you will find such innovative and unique designs here that you won't see elsewhere!
Modern Pewter is lead-free, making it safe for food and beverages, meeting or exceeding the food safety standards of the US Food and Drug Administration as well as stricter California safety standards.
EVBEA only uses the highest quality tin. It is hypoallergenic and nickel-free, making it an excellent choice for everyday and special occasion jewelry and accessories.

How to care for pewter jewelry?

Compared to other metals, pewter will develop interesting and charming chemical effects over time, as it establishes a close relationship between the environment and the user. We have also developed a unique hand aging process, giving each pewter artwork its own unique properties. EVBEA pendants are protected by a super hard transparent coating to extend the lifespan of the finish as much as possible.

Pendants from the EVBEA brand are typically made of pewter and do not require special maintenance during use. Simply store them in a dry place, away from acidic detergents, salt cleaners, oils, chlorides, and other chemicals that can corrode the product's surface.

How do you clean pewter jewelry?

When cleaning EVBEA products, avoid using cleaning tools to prevent surface scratches. Do not use chemicals commonly used in traditional jewelry cleaning methods, as they can damage the coating.

EVBEA pendants and chains should not be worn in the shower, swimming pool, or ocean. However, if this does happen, rinse off any saltwater and dry as soon as possible.
